arrrrggghhhh - Toshiba laptop core 2 T5200

just bought a new toshiba p100-160 laptop core 2 T5200 1.6Gb which seems to be a bit of a dog. The passmark is 186 - not much better than my old p4 1.7 at 171! Every test seems lower than I would have expected. Any ideas what I can do short of dumping it. Thanks

The T5200 should do better, on the CPU Rating it should get around 870.
