Disk score of 4,000 compared to my 400?

Why is there such a disparency between disk scores...e.g., my score is like 400 something, whereas some have scores in the thousands? I can see it being possibly even 5 x's faster than mine, if they have like a 15,000 rpm hdd in raid setup...but 10 x's? (maybe I'm just displaying my ignorance!)

Hardware:
Athlon 6000
m2n-sli deluxe mobo
evga 8800 gts superclocked
hitachi 320 gb, 16 mb cache HDD
4 gig ddr2 800 RAM

They are usually RAM disks.
