  • Booting from USB memory stick

I'd like to be able to boot directly to USB memory stick as I want to compare hardware without the OS on the internal harddrive initially. Has anyone done this and can share how they achieved it? I have looked at BartPE but not sure if PT could be integrated into it?

    Many thanks
    Gary

Testing without an O/S is a fallacy.

You need an O/S. It might be DOS, or a small version of Linux, or Windows in the forum of a bootable BartPE CD, or something else. But you need and O/S to load drivers for motherboard and the disk controller.

Also our PerformanceTest software only runs in Windows. But you should be able to get most of it running in BartPE (as this is just cut down Windows from a CD/USB drive).
