  • Passmark ratings for DDR3 1333 and 1600mhz memory?

Anyone care to share some values for their 1333 or 1600mhz memory..

    I have an asus p5e3 deluxe board with a q9650 3.0ghz cpu..

With auto settings i got a value of 1111 or so for 1333.. (for my old ddr2 in a different asus at 1066 i was getting around 88..

I switched to "auto" 1600 and was getting only about 1258 or so..

    Also..
    I have ocz3g16004gk 2GB modules x 4 (8-8-8-26 and 1.8v), i had
    trouble
getting most 1600mhz options to work.

The completely auto mode seemed to work, giving me a passmark memory
rating of 1228.. however, vista x64 was unstable, freezing at will,
    mostly during file transfers.

Then i tried setting ai overclocking to manual and 1600 for dram and
    AUTO for timings..

Odd thing is the bios reports 667mhz, but passmark ratings seem to
indicate 1600mhz ram with similar benchmarks..

The cpu reads 3.61ghz, whereas it should be 3.0ghz q9650 fsb 1333,

    cpuz shows fsb at 1600..

Dram frequency says 400.4mhz (is this essentially 1600mhz then? ie:
    400 x 4 cores)?

FSB:dram says 1:1, cas latency is 6, ras to cas delay is 7, ras
precharge 7, cycle time of 20, command rate 2T
In the SPD field the max bandwidth for slot#1 says 667mhz (perhaps
    why
the bios says 667 on post, and pc3-10700F)?

I'm not clear on if i've done the right thing here or not.. or why
these bios postings are like this..

In regards to PerformanceTest showing your CPU speed at 3.6Ghz, when you think it should be 3.0GHz, it does sond to me like you have increased the bus multiplier and hence the CPU speed and your CPU speed is 3.6Ghz.

You can see the CPU clock frequencies with the new Beta of BurnInTest V6.0, which you can download and try from here:
    http://www.passmark.com/forum/showthread.php?t=1734

Just open BurnInTest (the System Information tab will be displayed) and right click and select "Copy text to clipboard",
What does it show under clock frequencies, e.g.:
    CPU
    CPU manufacturer: GenuineIntel
    CPU Type: Genuine Intel(R) CPU @ 2.40GHz
    Physical CPU's: 1
    Cores per CPU: 4
    Hyperthreading: Not capable
CPU features: MMX SSE SSE2 SSE3 SSSE3 DEP PAE Intel64 VMX
    Clock frequencies:
    Measured CPU speed: 2319.5 MHz
    Bus Multiplier: x9.0
    Scalable Bus Speed: 266 MHz
    Front Side Bus: 1066 MHz
    Cache per CPU package:
    L1 Instruction Cache: 4 x 32 KB
    L1 Data Cache: 4 x 32 KB
    L2 Cache: 2 x 4096 KB
    L3 Cache: 4 MB

On starting, BurnInTest should ask you to allow another program "bitadmin.exe" to run. This is required to get the clock speeds (in Vista elevated administrator privileges are required). Didn't you get this message and allow it to run?

If not, you would need to run BurnInTest with elevated administrator privileges (Right click in bit.exe and select run with administrator privileges).

        Ian

Not sure if it matters, but i'm x64.. the only download i saw was for 32bit, which i installed.. i didnt get the 2nd admin prompt on launching.. so i did the run as admin option this next try.. the program became "not responding" after loading though, actually had to reboot to kill the task..

Yes. Sorry the Beta is only for 32-bit at this stage. You said you had CPU-z, what clock information is shown in CPU-z (such as multiplier, FSB and bus speeds)?
