My first test on this new computer (almost completed) stats are:
    Intel Quad Core 3.0 Q9650
    Intel Board DX48BT2 BoneTrail
    8GB Corsair DDR3 1333mhz 9-9-9-24
Diamond ATI 4870 X2 (single.. for the moment)
    WD Velociraptor 10k RPM 300GB
    Sony 20x Internal DvD-/+RW

Just for a comparison, not sure what system you are using but you can compare upgrade/gains off of the above to a point. I will post my full test stuff up when the rest of it arrives and be looking for some tips myself =p. Curious what I will be able to do post hardware to improve further that's.. where my knowledge ends. I see in one of the sticky posts something about running dual HD's in RAID but.. not sure how much if any improvement I would get using two of my current drive o.o.

Quick Edit: Almost forgot, I am also running in Vista Premium 64Bit.. and I just figured out how to save as image and upload from PassMark xD.

People who have purchased the PerformanceTest software can download V6 baseline files from our database of more than 12000 benchmark results and easily compare their machine to other machines.

There are also some initial baseline results included with the software itself. (under the baseline menu option).

And if you are just interetsed in CPU performance, there is the http://www.cpubenchmark.net/ site.

A score of 1700+ is pretty good but it well below the current highest score (4400+).
