My CPU Mark is very bad !!

Hello everybody, just finished building my PC

Motherboard: MSI K9N Neo V3 (MS-7369)
Chipset: nForce 560
BIOS: AMI V2.7, Date: 06-Jan-2009
CPU: AMD Athlon 64 X2 Dual Core Processor 5400+ @ 2.8GHz
Cache size: 2x512 KB
RAM: DDR2, 2048 MB. 2x1GB Dual
Video Adapter: ATI Radeon HD 2400 Series
Video driver: Version 8.573.0.0, Date 13-Jan-2009
Screen Mode: 1440x900x32
Disk Information: WDC WD3200AAJS-22L7A0 (SATA II)
O/S: Windows XP Professional (WIN32)

I used Passmark PerformanceTest 6.1 (1013) to test this PC, no program was running during the tes, and I

obtained the following results:

CPU Mark: 576.4 !!!
2D Graphics Mark: 243.2
Memyory Mark: 500.5
Disk Mark: 734.7
CD Mark: 239.8
3D Graphics Mark: 80.8

PassMark Rating: 458.0

I've downloaded some baselines from web, the minimum CPU Mark for the processor was between 1079, it's

about 200% of my CPU Mark. The other Marks were acceptable.

Is this normal?? Absolutely Not, but I don't know why ..

I am guessing this was an upgrade from a single core CPU. Check in the Edit / Preferences window that you have set the number of processes to at least 2.

Thank you very much, I found this solution in one of your previous responses at similar problems. When I modify the no. of processes to 2, I've got a CPU Mark of 1120. I try some other possible values (Between 2 and 64), the CPU Mark obtained increase, my question now is: what is the ideal value? Is it equal to no. of cores or what? thank you again.
