  • CPU Mark for i7

    Hello,

I just ran PerformanceTest 7.0 on my new system. After I got my results, I was wondering, if there´s a reason to get concerned when the CPU Mark is nearly 1000 points below average.
I also checked the preferences window, the number of processes is set to 8.

    My Computer:

    Operating System: Windows XP 32
    Motherboard: ASUS P6T
    CPU: Intel i7 920 @ 2,67 GHz
    Memory: 3063 MB DDR3 RAM
    Disk: 2x Samsung HD322 320 GB
    Video: NVIDIA GeForce 9400 GT

    Results:

    PassMark Rating: 1507.2
    CPU Mark: 4357.3
    Integrer Math: 494.0
    Floating Point Math: 2038.2
    Find Prime Numbers: 906.3
    Multimedia Instructions: 15.2
    Compression: 7261.0
    Encryption: 22.9
    Physics: 384.4
    String Sorting: 5014.3
    2D Graphics Mark: 768.3
    3D Graphics Mark: 356.7
    Memory Mark: 948.0
    Disk Mark: 636.3
    CD Mark: 308.5

I would like to know, if the result for CPU Mark is a normal variance or if there´s a problem, and if so, how I could fix the problem. The computer is just a few days old.

    Thank you for your help,

The CPU Charts are made up of a mix of 32 and 64-bit systems. 64-bit systems will score higher on average. In this case seeing as you are running on 32bit you will be a bit below the charts average, as such I don't think there is any major problem with your score.
