  • Help Choosing 3D Card Please

    Hello,

    First time post.. =]

    I need some help choosing a 3D card/graphics accelerator.
My aim is to spend around $150 to $200 NZD -/+.

What would I like to run at reasonable FPS?
    -
Call of Duty: World at war. (and potentially COD: MW2)
    Burnout Paradise
    Left 4 Dead
    Fallout 3
    GTA IV
    Crisis
    -

I know my PC is not the greatest gaming PC and will never be and will not be able to run the top cards, but I would like to get the most out of it as possible.

    PC:
    HYENA 300W POWER SUPPLY DR-8320BTX
    Gigabyte GA-M61PME-S2 Motherboard
    AMD Athlon 64 X2 4600+ 2.4GHz (Not OC'ed)
    2Gig RAM (single stick)
    250Gig Hdd
    -

How good is this card in your view?

    http://www.gigabyte.co.nz/Products/VGA/Products_Spec.aspx?ClassValue=VGA&ProductID=3058&P roductName=

    So my questions are,
Which 3D card is best for my PC? (GeForce 9600GT?)
What are the top two or three cards for me to choose from in your opinion and why?
& Can my mother board take DDR3 3D card?

Any advice or other comments are welcome please be nice!

You can find a chart video card performance here.
I would suggest that you spend the minimum on a new video card. Because 1) You need a fast CPU to get full advantage from a fast video card. 2) You can put the savings towards a new PC in a year or so.
