No problem, I was a PT version 1 beta tester. That's how I found out about PT.

I thought I had fixed this, however a bit more testing shows there is still problems using the 64-bit version of PT (I had only checked the changes in 32-bit).

Just to be clear, we have no intention of dropping support for older versions of PT baseline files. I'll add this to the todo list for the next update, as well as fixing up that part of the help file so it refers to the current version. Note that the next version will be 1012, 1011 was just released as a critical update to fix up a blue screen crash on some systems.

Thanks again for pointing this out to us, and sorry for any inconvenience this bug has caused.

I finally got around to checking out if Build 1010 fixes this problem.
PT 7 b 1010 no longer crashes on version 5 or older baselines but they can't be used. PT 7 reports the files are corrupt each time PT 7 is run. I had a look at the help file, see Baselines/Baselines. It looks like this info is from PT 6 not PT 7. Quote "PerformanceTest is backwardly compatible. This means that those baseline files created with older versions of PerformanceTest can be used with version 6. The additional test results present in version 6 will not however be available from the older baseline files."

If PT 7 is not going to be compatible with version 5 and older baselines I would think the help file should state so. Its not a big deal if PT 7 can't use old baselines but it was a nice feature. I have baselines all the way back to 1999 running on a P2 450. Loading up all my builds from the past and comparing them to what I have now was a walk down memory lane. Oh well.

Thanks for the bug report, we've identified the problem and it should be patched in the next build.

started a topic Version 5 baselines crash build 1009 PT7

    Version 5 baselines crash build 1009 PT7

PT crashes on startup if any version 5 baslines are in C:\Users\Name\Documents\PassMark\PerformanceTest folder or the PT install directory. This was not a problem in build 1007 or prior.
    Vista 64 bit sp2
    PT7 64bit build 1009

PT 7 versions 1006,1007,1009 64bit error out trying to open version 3.5 and 4 baselines. 32 bit not tested. I have no idea if older base lines have the same problem.

PT has always been able to open and use previous version baseline files.
As far as I know this feature has not been removed form PT 7 so it must be a bug.

    Thanks
    Bill
