  • Poor CPU Maths Integer results

    Hi,

We've just bought a fairly high end Dell Precision 5500 Workstation with a single Intel Xeon E5530 2.40Ghz processor.

However, when we've done a CPU PerformanceTest, the Integer Maths result is 320. I've compared this against similar Dell Precision 5500's and this looks like a really poor result. For example, other Dell's come back with 1600, 1500, 1200, etc. The Multimedia Instructions result is also 100% and more less than other comparable machines.

Is there something wrong with the CPU or is it set up incorrectly? The PC is not as fast doing the same job as our other Dell Precision 5400 and this gives superior readings on PerformanceTest.

Any help would be great. Thanks.

What version of PerformanceTest are you using?
    Are you using a 32bit or 64bit O/S?
Are you using the 32bit or 64bit release of PerformanceTest?

64bit systems do much better in the maths test.

The Multimedia Instructions result is also 100% and more less than other comparable machines.
Don't know what you mean by this sentence.
