I have latest display drivers, latest directx drivers for xp, I have made sure my card is accelerated I have shut of dual monitors. I tried various preferences and resolutions. An ATI radeon hd 5850 should be acheiving 2000+ 3d graphics mark . . . nuff said.

Are you sure the frame rate is not being limited to the monitor refresh rate. Having both the 3D simple & 3D medium return almost the same result is a possible indication that there is a frame rate limit.

Also XP 64bit is a very rare O/S. Based on the submissions we get, only 0.01% of machines are running XP 64bit. This means you run the risk of seeing problem nobody else sees and many manufacturers will not be doing any QA against this rare O/S.

      huh . . .

Thanks for the quick response. I did check that the performance test was set to max refresh rate under preferences. Is there any other way to make sure the tests aren't limited to the refresh rate? Besides both of the monitors are set to 60 hz wouldn't the fps top out at 60 not 45. I know that the OS may be rare but do you really think it would choke the video card that much? Oh and thanks for the post, I did go through it before I posted this thread.
