  • Preset searches for same CPU or CPU/GPU return 0

PT 7 build 1012 and 1013 return zero results when searching for same CPU or CPU/GPU. I'm running a Q6600 and a Nvidia 8800 GT. There are several of both in the data base. If you do an advanced search for 8800 GT several Q6600 CPU's are listed. I can also find results I uploaded that use a Q6600 and 8800 GT. File name "Generic Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 3005 BL2388". Win 7 ultimate 64 bit PT 64 bit.

    Thanks

A recent change to some of the server side scripts seems to have broken the search. It should be fixed now. Thanks for bringing this to our attention.

I think this problem is back. When searching for same CPU+GPU no results are returned even though many examples exist if searched for by same CPU or same GPU. I tested this on a new build of mine just to be sure the problem was not a fluke. I uploaded the results and then searched for same CPU+GPU and still no results. I also found nothing searching for the file by name. The only way I could find it was by searching the latest 20.

I think I've found and fixed the problem you were having with the file name search, however I'm not able to find anything currently wrong with the cpu+videocard search. Are you still having problems?

Yes I still have problems. Searching for certain files in advanced search still returns zero results. This baseline is an example. Asus M4A785-M AMD Athlon II X2 240 2812 BL203979. The file is found when searching from the basic tab. This base line does show up in an advanced search, Athlon X2,2501-3000 mhz, Windows 7 64 bit, last week, second from the top. Searching for same CPU/GPU on the system that generated the above baseline returns zero results. Searching for either same CPU or GPU returns results. The C2Q 6600 in my first post "Generic Intel Core2 Quad Q6600 @ 2.40GHz 3005 BL2388" returns results and I see no problems with the database. Same CPU/GPU, by file name etc.

            Thanks

Firstly, I went and also fixed the advanced file name search which had the same problem as the basic search.

As for the videocard+cpu problem. We looked up the queries sent to our server side script from the IP you used to post to the forum to try and figure out the problem. For some reason PT isn't sending the video card name from your system.

The baseline you listed has the correct video card information in it so we are a bit unsure what is happening. Can you confirm that when you run PT you are still getting a video card description on the system information tab. Can you also check it is still there after running the search (you can refresh the info by selecting/deselecting some baselines to display)

We had a look through the logs to see how common this problem was. Although you aren't the only person to have it happen it seems to be affecting less than half a percent of queries sent to our search script so it seems pretty rare.

I figured it out. This is dumb but I was using remote desktop to access the Athlon II system. PT can't ID the video card when using remote desktop for some reason. When sitting in front of the PC and searching for same CPU/GPU it works fine. I see you renamed the baseline I submitted by adding test to the front of the name. Everything seems good to go as far as I can tell.
                Thanks for the help!

Good to know what's causing it.

We'll put some extra checking in the search functionality so that users are warned when they try to search on videocard when theirs hasn't been detected.
