AMD Phenom II x3 N830 vs i3-330M

Hi,

I will be buying a new laptop soon and I have found two laptops so far.
Both very similar to eachother. The only difference is that one has a Phenom N830 and the other has a i3-330m and ofcourse I would like to have the better one. So I checked the benchmarks here and it shows that the Phenom N830 is better, however the i3-330m has a higher score at www.notebookcheck.net (Cinebench R10 comparision).
So basically my question is which cpu is better and why do PassMark and Notebookcheck show different benchmarks?(ranking-wise)

Our charts show these CPUs to be scoring within 4% of each other (at the moment).

The Notebook site list various benchmarks. Some in slightly favour of the N830, and some slightly in favour of the i3.

Difference benchmarks have different dependences on RAM speed, RAM size, video card performance, bus speeds, motherboards, 32bit/64bit, etc.. So it can be normal that the results are different.

They are very close CPUs. You should select on price, features and other criteria.
