  • Large Memory Test Performance

I have a window 2008 R2 VM with 32 GB of RAM and I am seeing some very different numbers for the memory large ram test. I am running the test on comparable Nehalem systems however on one system I get around 16226 and on the other system I see 6830 for the large ram test. What does this test do? I am trying to understand how two similar systems could have such a huge difference.
    Thanks
    Jeff

This test measures the ability to allocate very large amounts of RAM and the time taken to read this RAM. The test is designed to measure the ability of the system to support applications that use very large amounts of RAM. So the result depends on how much total RAM is in the machine (or VM) and how much is free. The result can be very bad if the system has to start swapping out to the page file.
