If I get an avg 55 fps on the complex test and avg 58 fps on the dx 10 test, is the test locking the framerate during the complex test. Btw, I have an XFX 6950 2 GB card.
It is possible that the video card device driver is not letting the frame rate exceed the monitor refresh rate. You'll need to check the settings in the video card device driver for your card.
