6700k poor scores for Physics and Prime numbers, fine otherwise

Compared against other stock 6700k baselines, my CPU's test results for Physics and Prime numbers are approximately 50% of expected. However, performance in all other tests are completely fine.

What do these two tests have in common which could be the cause of the performance loss? And is there any remedy?

This can be caused by bad RAM configuration. These tests (and the sorting test) use more RAM than the other CPU tests and so the impact is more pronounced on these tests. Check the BIOS RAM timings. Select automatic unless you really know what you are doing. Check you have enough RAM to avoid swapping out to disk all the time. Check the RAM is in the correct slots and matched pairs if you have a dual (or tri) channel motherboard. Check the RAM is of the correct speed for your motherboard.

Thanks for the reply, David. I'm running 16GB of RAM but in single channel (I've had some issues with dual channel and this motherboard - might be time to change the mobo).

What am I looking for in the RAM benchmarks?

My set up is:

2x 8GB Crucial Sport DDR4 at 2400MHz in single channel
