  • 2500k stock only scoring 6933.6

Hello! I just posted this same thread in the Hardware section, and I believe I was in error to do so, as I just saw this forum. My mistake.

I just recently constructed my new PC and my 2500k at stock speed is scoring 6933.6 on CPU Mark, down from the website's score of 7478. Is this variation something to be concerned about, and if so, what should I do? Games such as Skyrim and every day activities within Windows are snappy and I have had no indication of system instability. My temps are running a bit hot, with ~40 C on idle and high 60s during load.

    Thanks for the help!

    My specs:

    Windows 7 64-bit
    Intel 2500k
    Intel dp67bg
    corsair tx750 v2
    EVGA 8800gt 512mb
    16gb G.Skill DDR3-1600 RAM

A few people have been asking us about the i5 2500 and i5 2500K.

So we did a little study today and a few graphs.

As you can see from the distribution of results your score of 6833 while below average isn't unusual for this CPU type. So nothing to be too concerned about.

On the other hand you should be able to get 10% to 20% more out of it with some system tweaking and overclocking.
