Rating Performance results

HI,
We test a number of different laptops and want to be able to rank them into;
High Performance, Medium Performance, Low Performance.

Does anyone have any ideas on what results would fall into each category, I.e. 0-300 low, 300-800 medium, 800+ High, or are these well off the mark.

Are you interested in overall performance?
Or just CPU performance?
Or maybe everything except 3D?

We are looking at overal performance.
We test numerous laptops, and would like to be able to put some type of ranking against them for performance. Passmark seems to tests everything we need so would be good to be able to translate the results into categories.

Well it is pretty subjective what qualifies as good. And what is good today will be ordinary tomorrow.

But at the moment any laptop scoring over 1500 for the PassMark rating is high end.

Maybe 700 - 1500 is medium.

Anything under 700 I would think is pretty low (by today's standards)

Some of the newer mobile CPUs, like the Intel Core i7-2860QM beat most of the desktop CPUs on the market.
