  • Startup error number: 4 - what is it?

    I installed and had error number 9, which I cleared following the thread

    Now I get startup error number 4
    can anyone help me with this?
    My system is AMD FX6100 6core cpu, 8GB ram, Toshiba Q300 ssd, Win10

    It sounds like something is interfering with the PerformanceTest licencing files when it starts up (either preventing access or causing a crash). Before you started seeing the errors was PerformanceTest starting correctly or was it crashing?

    Do you have an security or antivirus software installed software, if so can you make sure it isn't running while you install and launch PerformanceTest.

    You should be able to remove the error by deleting the folders like you did previously (though replacing the PerformanceTest instances with PerformanceTest9);

    C:\ProgramData\PassMark\PerformanceTest9
    C:\Users\<username>\Documents\PassMark\Performance Test9)

    as well as anything in the windows temp folders

    C:\Windows\Temp
    C:\Windows\System32\temp

    and then re-installing.
