  • Very low 2D and 3D graphics score

    Hello,

This is my first post here but I have used this great site for refence lots of times.

I have just moved to a new computer for photography work, I just run the Passmark tests and everything is as expected but the graphics score.

I am very happy with the CPU score of 11,239, i7 3770k @ 4.4Ghz on Air

    http://www.passmark.com/baselines/V8/display.php?id=8682259388

It is not a gaming computer but I would expect the HD 6670 to win hands down an Intel HD 4000 graphics but in some areas it scores well bellow

The card is a shaphire ultimate HD 6670; latest catalyst 13.4 drivers installed

    I get the following scores

    2D Graphics Mark 574
    Graphics 2D - Simple Vectors 20.3
    Graphics 2D - Complex Vectors 189.9
    Graphics 2D - Fonts and Text 235.6
    Graphics 2D - Windows Interface 96.3
    Graphics 2D - Image Filters 268.5
    Graphics 2D - Image Rendering 947
    Graphics 2D - Direct 2D 20.3

    3D Graphics Mark 408.5

    Graphics 3D - DirectX 9 Simple 80.7
Graphics 3D - DirectX 9 Complex 11.6 (test reports can not select desired antialiasing)
    Graphics 3D - DirectX 10 12.1
    Graphics 3D - DirectX 11 3.09
    Graphics 3D - DirectCompute 493.2

Dxdiag shows directx 11 is installed and everything enabled

Windows 7 experience index gives me 7.1 score for graphics

    Any ideas?

    Regards
    Javier

I know the baseline file says there is a HD6670 in the machine, but is is possible you are still running on the HD4000 card?

Baseline also doesn't report 4.4Ghz as the CPU clock speed. Are you sure you aren't overheating the machine and then the CPU throttles down?

After going thropugh some forum messages that is what I thought and HD4000 seem to interfere somehow.

If I disabled the HD4000 in the device manager 2D results are still bad, on some my system wins compared to a HD4000 and on some it looses

EDIT: I have also unistalled the intel HD graphics driver and catalyst 13.4; after that I reinstalled catalyst 13.4, still no success

Sometimes I am not able to run the DirectX9 complex test as it reports non supported resolution/color depth. when it runs I get the same crappy result

      2D graphics mark_________my system 567 HD4000 740

      Simple vectors _________my system 20.1 HD4000 40.5
      Complex vectors_________my system 194.2 HD4000 149.0
      Fonts and text_________my system 231.2 HD4000 213.3
      Windows interface_________my system 95.6 HD4000 103.4
      Image filters_________my system 263.2 HD4000 824
      Image rendering_________my system 946 HD4000 740
      Direct 2D_________my system 19.6 HD4000 17.7

The 3D test also performs better in some areas but the DirectX 9 complex still performs bad
      My system 11.4 (requested anti-aliasing not supported) HD4000 16.3

The rest of the 3D tests seem to perform OK now

All the OC 3770k tests I have seen on this site report a 3.5GHz CPU, I was also running Open hardware Monitor and it shown a 4.4 GHz speed through the load tests, my system is pretty cool under 65Cº load so I am possitive there is no thermal throttling

Well, I have speed step enabled and 4.4 is the turbo speed

      Regards
