  • PT8 DirectX 11 screen black

When PT8 gets to directx 11 the screen goes black and I have to reset my computer. What is the fix for this problem? i7-2700k with GTX 1080

I had this once a long time ago, unless Passmark team disagrees:

My screen got black if I had overlay monitoring on.
at that time it was EVGA's GPU clocking program "Precicion X" showing a overlay that messed up my 3D test

Not sure what overlay monitoring is or where I would find the setting.

Yes, 3rd party overlay software can cause problems.

But so can hardware failure and old video card drivers.

The screen goes blank only at the dx 11 test. The test never starts, the screen just goes blank and I have to reset the computer.

do you have the latest DX drivers uptated also?
Could be worth trying to update the dx11 drivers before going trough all the other trouble

You can find one of the trusted DirectX updates on Microsoft.com, depending on what operating system version you use

I do have the latest drivers. I noticed that opencl is not enabled, if that matters.

I fixed it. It was OpenCL. Reinstalled the Nvidia drivers and it works now. Strange how it worked in PT9 and not in PT8.
