  • Windows Server 2019 Identifies as 2016

I've got the latest version of PerformanceTest (v9 Build 1030) and it misidentifies Windows Server 2019 Essentials (version 10.0.17763.253).

    This is what it shows:
Operating System: Windows Server 2016 Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials Edition build 17763 (64-bit)
    Thank you

Could you please launch PT in debug mode (https://www.passmark.com/support/ptdebug.htm) and email us a copy of the log files generated after it has finished collecting the system information.

Ok Tim, I just remembered to go back and do this. You should have a new email now.

      Thank you.

It looks like there currently isn't a great way to distinguish between the two versions as they both use the same major/minor version numbers for identification. So it looks like Microsoft stuffed up when they did the release.

We're going to look at filtering on the build number (starting at 17763) and labelling it as Server 2016/2019 as there is no guarantee the Server 2016 build number isn't going to catch up (currently sitting at 17134 it seems). Similarly for the "Windows Small Business Server 2011 Essentials Edition" part of the identification this is because the windows API function GetProductInfo returns PRODUCT_SB_SOLUTION_SERVER. It's possible Microsoft will change this at some point in the future to make more sense.
