    Lower score when overclocking?

    Hi,
    I have a Pentium D 940 (3.2GHz) overclock 3.62GHz scores 570.
However, when I overclock it to 3.72GHz the score is 480.

Do you think the system is slowner with more overclocking like this?

    Thanks.

You would need to look at the individual results to see why it slowed down or if it was just a bad benchmark run (e.g. there was some background software running at the same time).

I looked at every test category. Each of them is slower including the CPU test!
I "feel" the faster clock run faster, but the test gave the lower score consistantly overtime.

Should I lower my clock to 3.62GHz?

      My system:
      Antec P150
      Abit IL8
      2GB Patriot 677MHz memory
      Pentium D 940 @ 3.72GHz
      Winfast 7600GS
      2 200GB Maxtor

Maybe the CPU is overheating and throttled down.

          Alright
I replace the Intel CPU fan with a Zalman fan and boost the overclocking to 4.00 GHz and the score is now 627.

          Thanks Admin,
