  • DirectX 11/12 test unable to run on discrete GPU

I use latest PerformanceTest build 1010 to test.
And found DirectX 11/12 test can't run on discrete GPU but run on intel graphics card.
But the DirectX 9/10 didn't find this problem and can run on discrete GPU.

Is there any settings should I check?
How DirectX decide to test with internal or discrete GPU?
    Thanks.

Not all video cards support DX12. Check the specs for the card. (DirectX12 also won't work on Win7 or Win.

Depending on the system the device driver might determine what card to use. Which in turn might depend on power settings.
Otherwise PerformanceTest does attempt to pick the fastest card available that is connected to a monitor.

I run other benchmark test like Uningine Valley DX11 test, it can run on discrete GPU.
Only Performance test has the problem.
My power setting default is balanced mode.

DX11 and DX12 aren't the same thing. Just because your card supports DX11 doesn't mean it supports DX12.

I'm also run 3DMark api overhead feature test too.
It can run with dGPU on both DX11/DX12 test.
I'm sure my card suport DX12.

My problem is DirectX 11/12 test can't run on discrete GPU but run on intel graphics card.
            Any suggestion on this?
            Thanks.

Maybe just disable the internal GPU in BIOS if you want to use the external card.

Hard to comment more without more details of the hardware & drivers, etc.. being used.
