  • Passmark Performance Test Linux version not using totally the CPU ?

    Hello.
    Here is Ubuntu 20.04.4 AMD-FX 6300 4 GB.
    Also was installed
    libncurses5_6.2-0
    libtinfo5_6.2-0

Installed Performance Test Linux version 10.2 Build 1002 from https://www.passmark.com/products/pt_linux/index.php

    Used the command below
    ./pt_linux_x64 -p 6 -i 1 -d 4 -r 3

OS CPU governor being performance and BIOS allowing use all cores in maximum frequency not using turbo core.
The strange detail is when running the benchmark in cpu mark is showed in htop (Ubuntu task manager) all cores being used in 100 %, but the cpu temperature is much below when others softwares are using all cores and also I had started another software running fast even with Passmark Performance Test running in cpu mark.

Here CPU when being totally used is 60c, but in Performance Test is below 51c.
The benchmark is score cpu mark is 4156 and in https://www.cpubenchmark.net/mid_range_cpus.html is 4175.

Performance Test not use totally the cpu ? Is happening any error bug or is exactly the Performance Test normal mode of work ?

    Thanks for your reply.

Task manager shows all cores being used and all cores are indeed used. Except for the single threaded test.

But the tests are fairly quick and there is a pause between tests. Heat sink will have some thermal mass. Likely it takes a while to heat up.
