  • Servers 80 cores (4 CPU) - Only use 40 cores (2CPU)

    Hi guys,

    We have in our server a 4 CPU (E7-4870)* 10 cores * 2 (HT).
When I run PerformanceTest V8, I got very bad figures (around 12000) but only 2 NUMA CPU is used.

I have double checked the preference configuration and it's set up to 80 cores.

Any trick for using our 80 cores and not only 40 cores?

PerformanceTest should support up to 256 threads/cores for the CPU test. What version of windows are you using?

Assuming Server 2012 have you used the correct Windows licenses to be able to access all 4 processors?

      Hi Tim,

      Thanks for your quick reply.
I have double checked to be sure and we use Windows Server 2008 R2 without Hyper so according to this blog post, it support 4 sockets and up to 256 cores:

      We have indeed 4 sockets with 4 * E7-4870

Could you please launch PerformanceTest in debug mode (as described here), launch one of the CPU tests, exit PerformanceTest and then send us a copy of the "PerfTestLog.txt" and the "SysInfoLog.txt" logs that are created.
