  • Attempting to benchmark a Server 2012 VM; cannot load due to missing d3d12.dll

The headline pretty much sums it up; I'm trying to load PerformanceTest (current version 11.0 build 1001 64 bit) on a Server 2012 installation to be used in diagnosing VM performance issues after migrating to a new host. PerformanceTest fails to run and displays the error below, "The program can't start because d3d12.dll is missing from your computer...". However, this DLL is (apparently?) related to DirectX 12, which cannot be installed on this OS. According to the software download page, PerformanceTest is supposed to run on Server 2012.

Suggestions on how I can get PerformanceTest to run? I don't wish to perform any graphics benchmarks, just cpu/memory/disk.

    Thank you

Can you try installing this debug build which should address the missing dll issue:
