  • PassMark Score lower with 3D test?

    I installed a new ssd and were surprised to see my score was lower. Found out that the 3D test hadn't run before installing the new disk. Why is the score better without 3D test, seems wrong.

    The PassMark rating really only valid when all the test suites have values, partial results are not exactly comparing "apples to apples".

    In the formula each rating is weighted then inverted, the average of these values is taken and then inverted again. The formula was chosen so in such a way that a single extremely high value cannot significantly improve the final score. Conversely, a single low score can drag the score down significantly using this formula. The formula for PassMark Rating for Version 11 can be found in the following forum post
