  • Low Performance Test Scores

    OS: Windows 10 (64-bit)
    Motherboard: Gigabyte Z87-HD3
    CPU: Intel Core I5-4590 Haswell
    Memory: 8GB DDR3 SDRAM PC3-12800 x2
Drives: 240GB Crucial SSD & 2TB Seagate HD
    GPU: AMD R9 280X

I'm getting a passmark rating of only 1264 but I've benchmarked against people with similar setups who are getting scores of 3500+

I have checked all drivers are up to date and don't know what else to do. Any advice would be appreciated.

There is a long list of common issues but first I would check you power options in control panel to make sure the system it isn't set to a power saving instead of high performance mode.

If your CPU score is lower than others with the same one then check the number of processors in msconfig is not set incorrectly (open msconfig, go to the boot -> advanced options and make sure the the number of processors option is unchecked).

Thanks for the suggestion. Turns out my cpu cooler was broken causing it to run at 100 C. I have replaced it with a new cooling system and system is running much faster.
