We were sent a PerformanceTest crash dump today that indicated there was a crash at startup of the DirectX 10 (DX10) test that appears to be happening in one of the D3DGear DLLs (D3DGear64.dll).
If you are running D3DGear and experience such a crash then please try running the test with the D3DGear disabled/uninstalled.
So far we've only had this be reported for the DX10 test and not DX9/11.
Update: Uninstalling D3DGear fixes the problem. So there must be something in D3DGear that interferes with the expected behaviour of DirectX10.
