  • Some 2D Tests Failing/Not Running on HP Pavilion 500/Win10/AMD Radeon R7 240

    Running PerformanceTest v11.0 Evaluation Version
System is HP Pavilion 500-436na Desktop
    Windows 10.0.19045
Graphics Card is AMD Radeon R7 240

When I run the "2D Graphics Mark", only 3 sub-tests complete as follows:
    Windows Interface, Score 29
    PDF Rendering, Score 34
    Direct 2D, Score 13

The following 2D Tests appear not to run:
    Simple Vectors
    Image Filters
    Image Rendering
    Direct 2D - SVG

The Test "Fonts & Text" produces an error message box title "PerformanceTest Error", text in box "Unknown Error Running 2D Test"

The 3D Mark tests all run fine. All other tests appear to run fine as well.

I have tried to upload the SysinfoLog and PerfTestLog files but I get an error saying that .txt files are not permitted. Probably a newbie error, so please advise how to do that.

    Any help appreciated...

Try updating the video card device driver.

I updated my AMD Radeon R7 Series 200 drivers as follows:
Old driver. Date: 22/5/2015 Version: 15.200.1045.0
New driver. Date: 25/10/2021. Version: 27.20.20906.6

I reran the PerformanceTest v11 2D Mark tests but the same tests as listed above either produced no results or in the case of "Fonts and Text" the "Unknown Error..." message is still seen.

The previous 3 tests that appeared to run ok with the original drivers and produced results, still appear to run ok.

Definitely something wrong with the machine. Clean Windows install might help, but it could also be hardware failure.

If you can post a debug log we can take a look.

Update: Based on Emails & log files.

Monitor resolution seems to be set to 1280 x 720, which is below the required system requirements for some of the graphics tests.
(needless to say, we need to improve the error messages for this error case to make them more informative)

I reset my 2009 vintage HP 2159m monitor to its best 1920x1080 setting and all the 2D Mark tests now run perfectly. Thanks to the team at Passmark for the excellent support and fast turnaround. Problem Solved!
