  • GPU shown to be underperforming in DIrectX 9

As you can see in the images, the overall result is above average for the 4070 Super but specifically in dx9 only it is shown to be somewhat underperforming. Obviously I don't really care for top notch performance in dx9 applications but i'm still curious if this is just an error in the benchmark or a possible cause of concern. The result is very consistent and i don't experience any GPU related issues in any applications

    Benchmark is accurate.
But there are many many factors that can effect the result. And as you can see from the distribution graph you end up with a very wide spread in the real world.

Here are a few (these are just examples, I don't really know why your setup is 10% below average.
    - Device driver version differences.
    - Poor cooling
    - Wrong PCIe slot
    - Monitor settings and refresh rates
    - Device driver settings (quality settings overrides and again refresh rates)
    - Weak CPU and or main RAM relative to the GPU
    - Background software or gaming overlay or streaming software
    - etc, etc....

Thanks for the reply. Cooling is fine while gaming and gpu stress tests, pcie slot is the correct one and I think if it wasn't it would be very obvious. I don't know how monitor settings could affect dx9 results specifically, i will try setting it to 60hz and re-doing it. I have a ryzen 5 7600 cpu and 32gb ram @6000mhz cl30 and the only active application during the benchmark was the Nvidia app. I could also see a Device driver version difference being possible, maybe the worsened dx9 performance in one of their recent updates, who knows.
