  • Invalid Video Mode

When I run the latest performance test (version and select "Run All Tests" I get the following when it starts to test video performance:

    ---------------------------
    PassMark DirectX Testing Suite
    ---------------------------
    Invalid video mode.
The resolution and color depth you have selected do not appear to be
    valid for hardware acceleration.
Please ensure that the correct monitor drivers are installed.
Also ensure that the most recent video drivers for your graphics adapter
    are properly installed.
This error can also occur if your monitor is in portrait mode.
    Error Code: D3DERR_INVALIDCALL
    ---------------------------
    OK
    ---------------------------

The video card is a Nvidia K2200 and the monitor a Samsung SyncMaster 214t.

I did install the latest drivers for the video card, the monitor is in landscape mode and there isn't any monitor driver (as far as I know).

The 2d and 3d tests do run but give a very low mark. What needs to be done to get rid of this "invalid video mode" message and get proper marks.

    TIA.

I assume this only happens on the DirectX 11 test.

This test expects to run at 1080p (1920 x 1080). It looks like your 11 year old monitor can't run at this resolution.

No, the monitors native resolution is 1600 by 1200.

I did a clean re-install of the video drivers and now the message didn't appear anymore and the benchmark is much better.
