  • Block Memory Access Speed Report ...

    I have a problem,
How is it that a P-4-3.96 W/2GB RAM gets 379Mbps
    while AMD 265 Opteron 1.8 DualCore W/2GB DDR 400 ECC Gets 170Mbps?
Is it less MB is better then Large MB that is the P-4 is Less slower then the AMD?
    I've tested Centrino 1.83G/2M W/750MB Got 220Mbps and an HP ML150G2 W/2xXeon 3.0/2M W/2GB DDR 400 ECC got 320Mbps...
What the hell is going on, how is it that the Xeon is slower then a P-4-3G?!!!
    Please HELP ASAP...

The Opteron & Xeon chips are aimed at server machines. They are more conservative with memory access and value stability over maximum speed. In particular the use of registered ECC RAM can slow things down, but make the system more reliable.
