Free Upgrades:
When the final V12 release is complete anyone who bought V11 in the previous 12 months will get a free upgrade to V12.

What's New:
Alpha 1 [12.0.16157] - 7/July/2026
A new foundation
V12 separates the benchmarks from the user interface. This means the interface can be shared across platforms, and benchmark sets can be added or updated independently of the software itself.
This also means older benchmark sets can stay available for longer, so results stay comparable across a wider range of machines and hardware generations, rather than being tied to whatever ships with a given version of the software.
The interface has been completely redesigned and is now shared across Windows and Linux, both with the same graphical UI and the same underlying tests. A macOS version is in the works, with Android and iOS versions to follow after that.
Benchmark sets are downloadable, with more sets available from the PassMark store.
Interface
- Complete UI overhaul, shared across platforms
- Linux now has a full graphical UI, matching Windows
- Same tests run on both Windows and Linux
- macOS support in development, with Android and iOS to follow
- 'Recommendations' tab (Windows only), flags configuration issues on your machine
- 'Manage Sets' tab lists all installed benchmark sets, additional sets can be downloaded here
CPU Marks:
- Multi-threaded and single-threaded results are now split, using the same underlying tests
- Added Matrix Small, Matrix Large, JSON Parsing, and XML Parsing tests
- Split Encryption into separate AES encryption and SHA256 hashing tests, removed ECDSA encryption
- Removed Extended Instructions test
2D Mark:
- Added HTML Scroll, Video Decode, HTML WebRes, and a Javascript benchmark based on Octane
- Renamed Image Rendering to Stretch Image
- Removed Simple Vectors, Fonts and Text, Windows Interface, Direct 2D, and Direct 2D SVG tests
3D Mark:
- Added Space Battle Unity, replacing all DirectX tests
- Split GPU Compute into Mandelbrot and N Body Gravity tests
- Removed Julia and Particles sub-tests
Added NPU Mark and an optional Matrix Multiplication test
Alpha 2 [12.0.16234] - 10/July/2026
- Fixed some invalid help links
- Added NPU info to System Information tab
- Display in status bar ID of last submitted baseline, clicking on ID will open the display page
- Attempt to fix PCIe max speed if GPU is idle
Alpha 3 [12.0.16320] - 21/July/2026
- Fixed CPU information display issue on Linux
- Added inspect_cpu_info.sh to help check if cpu information is collected correctly
- Attempt to fix memory info when running PerformanceTest in VM
Alpha 4 [12.0.16439] - 31/July/2026
- Added 'warning' level to recommendations, e.g. if PerformanceTest fails to gather GPU temperatures
- Improve RAM slot recommendation
Alpha 5 [12.0.16811]

- 1/September/2026

- Added Android & iOS versions
- Further adjustments to user interface
- Fixed up incorrect tested disk being shown on comparison page
- Added check to prevent users from downloading/running incompatible binaries
- Fixed memory voltage readings in Linux
- Fixed the button not opening the benchmark directory location
Alpha 7 [12.0.17180]

- 14/October/2026
- Consolidate disk recommendations into per-issue cards with per-disk rows
- Recommendation Tab, Fixed reporting temperatures against the wrong disk
- [Android] Fixed benchmark parse errors not appearing on the main screen
- [Android] Updated memory test to use standard error reporting system
- Fix missing QR code after upload
Alpha 8 [12.0.17315]

- 4/November/2026
- Added a dark mode theme option in Settings
- Added an "Upload usage information to PassMark" option in Settings. It is off by default for registered users and always on for the shareware version
- Added crash reporting. PerformanceTest now records errors and unexpected shutdowns and can report them to PassMark. If a session crashes, the report is sent the next time you launch the app
- Added the SysInfo and DirectIO versions to the System Information tab
- Added sleep prevention on mobile during benchmark runs. If the OS locks the device anyway, the run is cancelled and you're told why
- Changed Core Benchmarks to a new benchmark set, results from the new set can't be compared directly with results from the previous set
- Changed the NPU Matrix Multiplication scoring so that mid-range NPUs score around 1000. Previously, scores were close to zero
- Changed the interface: new logo, help and settings icons, better spacing on tabs and header buttons, and restyled help buttons. The Settings window now matches the configuration window
- Changed percentile bars to show only for benchmarks that haven't run yet or are running
- Changed error notifications on mobile so they can be swiped away
- Fixed startup appearing to hang on protected builds
- Fixed some settings not being saved on Linux, Android and iOS
- Fixed the wrong error being shown when a benchmark set failed to load

- Fixed the tested drive not being identified for Disk Mark results on macOS
- Fixed swiping changing tabs in the wrong direction on mobile
- Fixed the iOS settings radio buttons and a small glitch in the iOS app icon
- Fixed the Linux dependency check so it runs during package installation
