The is a big one, but the huge disk scores can only be achieved via a RAM disk or very large on disk cache I think.

I don't use RAM Disk. My Maxtor has 16MB Cache.

Do you just have the one hard drive? The Maxtor 6L250R0 seems to be an ATA-133 7200 RPM drive with 16 meg cache.

I dont care what you say no ATA-133 7200 RPM drive with 16 meg cache is going to come anywhere close to over 3000, I would say more like 30. I mean my 10,000 RPM Raptor hits close to 400 and they are the fastest HD's you can buy.

The 15,000 RPM Ultra320 or Serial Attached SCSI drives are fastest drives available. Several manufacturers make them and I don't know which brand's version is fastest.
