"With the translation of the link when dragging a test case into a project it only updates the link to that the link points to the same location inside the project rather than the generic test case, it won't move the test case the link is pointing to into the project. "

Exactly what i meant. This does not work

The link fields + launch button aren't designed for internal links to test cases, they are designed to launch an external process like a web browser to view a page or an external document.

With the translation of the link when dragging a test case into a project it only updates the link to that the link points to the same location inside the project rather than the generic test case, it won't move the test case the link is pointing to into the project.

We'll keep test case dependency in mind for a future version.

    Tested this on build 1020

    Hi,

I tested this on the latest (win) version of testlog.

!)Link in the HTML page: works
    2) "launch" button in input screen (for testcases and project testcases): does not work
    3) converting a "Testcases" link to a "Project Testcases":
    does not work

also if the "translation of the link" would work-> the linked test cases is not automatically dragged to the project. so It mean the link is pointing to an non-existing project testcase.

There is also no notification that there is a link between the 2 testcases

suggestion for new functionality regarding this subject:
I would be great if you could indicate (a list of) test case(s) which are a prerequisite for a testcase.

In this way you could indicate a sort of critical path in testcases.

In fact, you can make statuses of test cases dependent on each other. If on of the prerequisite testcases fails-> status is set to “postponed”. If all pre-requisite test cases are passed - > set the status from “postponed” to “not yet attempted” etc

If you then could view these links in the user interface in a "testcase thread" (or something) and indicate an order in these theads + assign a tester to this thread.

This would help the execution of testcases.

You can add links to test cases using "testlog://" links, described in the "Linking to Test Cases and Project Test Cases" section of the helpfile. If you then drag the test cases into a project test cases folder the links will be updated to point to the project test cases. You will need to add "" around the link so that space characters are included in the link.

This may currently open a blank IE/Firefox window when clicking on the link (bug).

Link to one test case from another?

    Hi;

I'd like to be able to reference one or more test cases that are already within testlog from another test case.

    e.g.:
    test case 3:
    1. Execute test case 1 with data x
    2. Execute test case 2 with data y

Is there a way to automatically create test cases 1 and 2 as 'sub' cases of test case 3? That'd be great.

    cheers,

    Honna
