  • Softonic toolbar causes TestLog crash

We have just discovered that having the Internet Explorer Softonic toolbar installed will cause TestLog to crash whenever it displays an item. It appears to be a bug in the Softonic toolbar. Elsewhere on the Net there are also reports that the tool bar is a misleading scam in any case. Disabling the toolbar has no effect and it must be un-installed before TestLog will function normally again.

This is likely a problem caused by the toolbar interfering with the transfer of data to and from Internet Explorer controls, like the one TestLog uses for display.

When Testlog crashes in this way, the entire application may suddenly close and disappear.

Further investigation seems to indicate there may be several toolbar packages using the same libraries created by "Conduit Ltd." that may cause similar crashes.

You can try searching for the toolbars causing the problem by opening Internet Explorer, opening About Internet Explorer from the Help menu, clicking System info and doing a search for “Conduit Ltd” in the dialog that appears.
