  • About WirelessMon log function

    Hi

I see the WirelessMon Pro has LOG & GPS support, can you tell me how frequency can it record ? Can it record by schedule or operate
    manually ?

For example, when I drive from a City to another and start WirelessMon, can I get the survey log from WirelessMon along the path ?

    Thans for your help.

The sampling rate must be between 0.1 seconds and 60 seconds. Setting a very fast sampling rate will place additional load on your system and may not be supported by all cards. You can set this from the configuration window.

      Thanks for your response.
What cards support high record rate ?

We don't have a detailed list. But it is probably a fair statement that newer cards are faster at scanning the available channels than the older ones.

Internal wireless chips on the motherboard are supported.

The summary log saves information form the summary tab, statistics tab and IP tabs.

The access point log saves SSID, Channel, Encryption, RSSI, Supported Rates, MAC Address, Network Type, Infrastructure Mode, First Seen Time, Last Seen Time for the detected access points. When using the GPS option Attitude and Longitude are also logged.

                The connected node log saves information about the currently connected access point every sampling point including;
                • received signal strength in both (%) and (db)
                • information from the right column of statistics tab
                • information from the right column of IP Connection tab

                  Thanks for your help.
I download trail version and log Wi-Fi information. But in access point log, I did not see mac address information ? Or this information just exists in product ?

Unless you checked the Mappoint or GPX format options, which reduces the information logged to just SSID, Channel and Lattitude/Logitude, the MAC address should be logged for all the detected access points.

Yes, if the GPS option in the General Options is enabled and configured the lat and long will be logged.
