We had to tweak the design of the plastic case a bit. Just for fun we did 3D print of the updated case. It didn't turn out nearly as good as the professional prototype.

We have ordered all the parts for an initial production run of 3000 units.
Turns out some of the parts have a lead time of ~10 weeks which pushes us into the Christmas period unfortunately, which means more delay. The component suppliers in question initially quoted ~6 weeks lead time, until we placed an order, then changed it to 10 weeks
In the meantime we'll be doing some additional work on the application level software (running on the PC), reducing the foot print of the firmware, getting our BurnInTest product to work with the plugs and writing some software to test the devices at the end of the production line.

We are expecting to have all the components available for an initial production run of 3000 units in the next 2 weeks.
Actually assembling the components into working devices should take another 2 weeks after that (Maybe 3 as it falls over Christmas).
Development on the software continues in the meantime. We have been testing behaviour on a USB3 hub, looking at the behaviour with multiple devices connected, seeing if it was possible to support the other lesser used modes of USB (Interrupt and Isochronous) and looking at how certain error conditions are handled.
Unfortunately USB3 is still relatively immature. We have found bugs in the device drivers, the silicon, the host controllers in the PC, the development environment, the technical documentation, etc.. So progress isn't always as fast as we might wish.

All the boards should be manufactured this week.
We are still waiting on the final plastic cases however.
Preliminary USB3 order page is now up on the web site.

Still work to do however on the PC software, documentation & public API.
