I have had some temperature problems as you can see from the logs. Most of the time happened under my radar as one of the fans that cool the HDDs ceased to function. I'm hoping you can identify my problem, as well as inform me if one of my drives should be replaced if necessary. A thanks in advance and I appreciate any support you can give me!

Seagate drives, for example, are rated to 60 degress C while in operation. So temps of 40 to 45C should not be a serious problem. (Unless the external temp is really low like 10C and you are heating the drive from 10C to 45C in a few minutes).

Diskcheckup, in your posts above, doesn't show any errors, so there is no reason to think based on the information provided that this might be a faulty disk.

If you look at the worst value of temperature difference from 100 on one of the seagates, it says 27 and I think the proper way to reading that means that it hit 73 degrees at one point (correct me if I'm wrong). Well, more than once. I took the log after I fixed the fan/heat problem. I have heard that seagate drives are rated 60 degrees C operating, but I don't know if +13 degrees C is ok.

I'm weary of my windows installation drive and drive 4 failing not now but sometime in the future. My windows installation drive has 1315 reallocated sectors. I'm thinking that's not too bad, there's millions of sectors. Now drive 4...drive 4 lists 67 reallocated sectors (also not bad) and spin retry count at 20. Early last week Diskcheckup listed SRC as 30. Is it bad if the number drops?

Now if the HDDs aren't the culprit of my audio and video stuttering, I'll have to worry about my RAM and possibly a damaged motherboard somehow.

Video stuttering is more likely to be a software or configuration issue, rather than an issue of failed hardware. For example, lack of CPU power, device drivers taking too long to service interupts from hardware, or background tasks running on the machine.

I forgot to add that it's not only in video, that was just an example. When I access a lot of files, copying files, sometimes even just clicking a link in internet explorer there's a huge slowdown for a split second. Videos' audio was just an example because it's unwatchable for me.

Edit: I did a little testing and it seems when I access/copy files from drive 4 I see significant amounts of lag compared to the same file being read from each of my other HDDs. Maybe the disk is spinning too slow? The spin stats of drive 4 are significantly higher than those of the other drives except spin up time, in which its spindles rev up faster. I'll try disconnecting the drive to see if lag still persists.

Edit2: Ok first I copied a 2gb folder to my C:drive to see how that went. I browsed the internet at the same time and experienced ridiculous lag. It seems drive 4 is the culprit, the problems disappear after I disconnect it from the motherboard.
