HP laptop keyboard issues

I have an hp 6735 laptop and am having issues with the keyboard. When it gets to the login screen, it won't allow me to log in. The keys are not working. I installed the mouse and only the cursor moves. I can't do anything else. Anyone have any suggestions? I have also tried to reboot twice.
