  • No indication which memory bank is at fault

    Hi,

I've run a test on a Supermicro with Intel Xeon E5506 and 8 GB RAM.
An error came up during the second pass. See attached photo.
Why does it not tell me which bank is at fault?

    Thanks,
    Cees.

Normally it isn't possible to know which slot has an error, except by trial and error. The problems are
    - that that the slots aren't labelled in general, so you don't know which one is slot 0 for example.
    - the bytes are spread across the sticks when using dual, tri or quad channel RAM.

So the best option is to test one stick of RAM at a time. (or test pairs at the same time if you had 4 sticks installed)
