Hello,
I recently bought new RAM and installed it into my PC and I have been getting BSOD ever since. I changed back to my old RAM and the BSOD problem hasn't gone away.
There is a lot of tests I have run so I will try to explain it as clearly as possible. I am running the version of MemTest86 that is provided here: https://www.memtest86.com/index.html.
My testing is comprised of two computers. My daily driver and a friends. All of my tests are 4 passes and all 13 tests. The default settings for all tests.
Summary of tests and results (I used XMP for all tests):
My Computer
TEST #1 - FAIL
I tested my old RAM 2x8GB @ 2400 - Slots A2 B2
TEST #2 - PASS
I tested my friends RAM - Slot A2
TEST #3 - PASS
I tested my friends RAM - Slot B2
TEST #4 - PASS
I tested my old RAM 2x8GB @ 2400 - Slots A1 B1
TEST #5 - PASS
I tested my new RAM 2x8GB @ 3200 - Slots A2 B2
TEST #6 - PASS
I tested my new RAM 2x8GB @ 3200 - Slots A1 B1
I don't know why this test passed. This is the same as TEST #1 except it passed.
TEST #7 - PASS
I tested my old RAM 2x8GB @ 2400 - Slots A2 B2
Friends Computer
TEST #1 - PASS
I tested my friends RAM to make sure it works. Slot A1.
TEST #2 - PASS
I tested my friends RAM in the other slot (there are only two).
TEST #3 - PASS
I tested my old RAM 2x8GB @ 2400
TEST #4 - PASS
I tested my new RAM 2x8GB @ 3200
I am not sure what is going on. Any help provided is much appreciated. I can provided the minidumps from Windows if that helps.
Here are the results of the one fail.
