Memtest86 reading 62.1 GB RAM out of 64 GB?

ID:	52708Is that normal? I just recently installed a 64gb Team Group DDR4 ram set and am currently checking it with memtest in parallel CPU, but it only reads 62.1 GB of memory.
    I’ve tested both sticks individually before in different slots and they passed reading 31.9 GB, but when I test them together I seem to miss 2GB of RAM? What could be causing it?

    It is normal that the BIOS uses (and hides) some the RAM for it's own purposes. This can be for the UEFI firmware and for memory mapped I/O.

    2GB does seem a bit excessive however.

    But there is also the issue around GB vs GiB and SI Units.
    Some marketing material might be talking about GB, when they really should be talking about GiB. Resulting in some confusion and small amounts of storage seemingly go missing.

      Thanks for your response, you're right, the 1.9 GB is shown as reserved for hardware. But I agree it still seems excessive. I'm trying to check which resource is hogging all the ram by looking at address ranges in Device Manager, but I'm not familiar with reading hexdec

        The I/O ports are relevant. So ignore them.

        For memory usage, video cards are often the large users.
        For example, GeForce GTX 280 CFFFFFFF - C0000000 = around 228MB.

        Memtest86 itself can also display the memory map in a slightly more friendly way.
