Unable to run MemTest86 on Surface Studio 2021

We have 2x Surface Studios with memory problems.
We're trying to run MemTest86 on these. They are able to boot into MemTest where we can access the config, but upon starting any tests, we are greeted to an Idle black screen.

any help would be super appreciated as these devices are needed for pupils doing 2D design

We haven't tested specifically on Surface Studio, but other Surface devices had issues with MemTest86 in the past, mainly with display issues not showing the GUI, e.g.

If MemTest86 did start, there should be debug log, you can send it in, and we can take a look.
