  • What's wrong? RAM? CPU? Graphic Card?

I have been facing issues recently with my desktop. I play Dota 2 game and general youtube n movies download. I used to get blue screen with "Memory_Management" like 2-3 times in month or so.

Later last month, my pc did not start and got stuck in Automatic repair loop. I installed windows 8.1 again. After that it ran a bit and then again after few days, during boot it was not able to find windows file to load. I re-installed again. also, dota 2 is getting crashed and frozen and pc gets hang too. I have been using this system since 2016. I have Graphic card as well.

After trying to figure out what's wrong i came across some CMD command checks for Hard disk n ram, it came back with 0 errors.

Finally, i rant Memtest86 free and got results.

Posting it here as i am not that good with this.

Question is: what exactly is wrong? what i need to replace ? RAM? CPU? Graphic card ?

    Looking forward for your support.

One bit in error at one memory address. So it is almost definitely bad RAM

    See also
    https://www.memtest86.com/troubleshooting.htm

    So yes replace the RAM.

Max CPU temp was also slightly high (86C). So check fans, heatsink & cooling while you have the box open.

      Dear David,

      Thanks alot for quick response.
I also checked with the vendor from whom I got it assembled 7 years back. I was surprised when he told me it's hard disk which is a problem here. He said...he concluded based on the error shown.
      I am now confused.
Is there anything which tells me if my hard drive is good or not?
Any test which i can perform.
Buying a Ram or hard disk is costly affair. I will do it for sure but just want to confirm as I do not have Ram spare with me.

Actually RAM is pretty cheap at the moment.
Around $25 to replace your 2 x 4GB with brand new RAM, or under $20 for second hand RAM.
(i.e. the shipping could cost as much as a the RAM)

In additional your current crucial RAM is still under warranty. So any replacement is free.

There is no reason to think a RAM error would be caused by by the hard drive. The person who told you this is confused, or is John Snow.
