Need to turn them off and run them bypassed to troubleshoot if it's the cache or the ram or Memtest itself... Can it be done within Memtest.or do I have to write a script to do it and then run Memtest, and if I do, will Memtest just turn them back on again or leave them as is?

You can set MEMCACHE in the config file:

Or disable memory caching in Memtest86 itself.
Note that this is a Pro version only feature. -
I bought Memtest86 PRO version and went through the menu and didn't see anything that looked like it had to do with the caches, what menu is it under and what's it called? ( I could have just missed it)...

That would be why. I just thought that was info telling me the cache was enabled. I didn't think you could change its status from that page...
I will check it later tonight. I can't reboot atm cause I am in the middle of stuff.

Also in the config file, you can use a number of different options.
In older releases turning off the cache was insanely slow (near unusable) as we disabled all caches, including the instruction caches. The performance drop without any caching is HUGE.
Newer releases only disable the data cache and not the instruction cache. So it isn't as bad. But it is still slower.Comment

Turning them off is only for testing and troubleshooting to remove them as a source of the error. Once that's done they will get turned back on.

You really should put something like a yellow line or something under that text to let people know it is not just displaying information, but is actually clickable and you can change the settings there. I went right past it because I thought it was just telling me the cache was enabled, not that I could click on it and change the settings...Comment
