What is this??? - Actual and expected value are the same

XMP is useless. Never had it work. 5 or 6 motherboards, couple dozen sticks of ram, several CPUs. Can't be that every motherboard and ram stick and CPU I have bought over the past few years is all faulty, not buying that. XMP settings just do not work, nothing runs at the XMP speed. Best to go to manual mode and set it yourself.

I should qualify this statement so it is not misunderstood.

XMP1 runs fine. Makes my 9000 memory run at 6400. Not functional.
XMP2 at 9000 won't even boot (or any freq over 6400).
XMP Tweaked boots in manual and I can get it to run at 8600, so at least I got that functional.

It's been like that for years now on like the last 6 or 7 machines I have built.

I think it is a marketing problem.

XMP works OK for machines that aren't on the bleeding edge (our success rate is around 80%, but we aren't trying to run at 9000Mhz).

If everyone returned RAM that didn't meet the claimed specifications, it wouldn't take long for the vendors to start make more realistic claims.
