Hello....
I've noticed a huge variation in scoring when it comes to CD Read scores (when looking at some of the baselines i have compared my system to). I'm trying to figure out how I can make mine faster (if possible). My DVD Burner is an Asus QuietTrack with SATA interface. my score ranges from sub 1 all the way up to 9 in change. The variations I have noticed in my own system are directly related to the type of disc I have in the drive. If i have a CD in there, I get horrible scores. DVDs are a different matter though. With some DVDs, I can get in the 9's, while others give me a 4 or 5 rating. So far, the best DVD I can have in the drive when doing the test is my Office Enterprise 2007 DVD from Microsoft. This particular disc yields the highest score for me. I've also noticed that if I run the CD Read test a second time immediately after running a first test (while the drive is still spinning) I get a better score (almost doubled in some cases).
I guess my question, for anyone who may care to answer, is why ??? Is the test supposed to behave like this? A final question for anyone reading this that may have a high CD read score........ what are you running to get an insanely high score? I've posted my results below:
